Apollo TFT Displays

Apollo Display Technologies is the USA subsidiary of Distec GmbH. Over the last years Apollo developed in co-operation with the US Military several versions of LED backlighted TFTs, usually based on longterm available Chimei or Optrex TFTs. For production a class 1000 certified clean room has been installed. Since 2006 this technology is also available as commercial product at favourable prices. At the moment a range from 6.5 " to 19" TFTs is re-engeneered to LED and/or transflective versions.

LED transmissive and LED/CCFL transflective

TFT display with LED backlight provide all advantages of LEDs:

	Long backlight half-life period: 50.000 hrs.
	Perfect performance in low temperature range: full brightness immediately after switch-on even at lower temperatures; in contrary to CCFL tubes no influence on lifetime
	Environmentally compliant/green IT: LEDs contain no mercury as CCFL tubes do.
	Better EMV features: the high and interfering frequencies of CCFL inverters do not occur with LED backlights.
	Resistant against shock and vibration
	Also available as NVIS version (class A and B)
